Water Training


On June 20, Foodrinco, within the framework of its cooperation with Nestlé Waters, conducted a training session addressing to its employees over bottled water subjects. On the theoretical part, the water categories and their key features, as well as the whole range of Nestlé waters, were analyzed. The training ended with a blind tasting of sparkling waters and a description of the basic features such as taste, smell and mouthfeel.

Tranquini®: “Goodbye” stress



Tranquini, the natural relaxation drink, following its philosophy of relaxation and positive thinking, proclaimed April as Stress Awareness Month encouraging people to deal with stress at work, and established May 12th as Positively Relaxation Day.

These initiatives were supported by an integrated communication campaign and activations including press releases, offices and outdoor sampling, radio and digital media communication, and a seminal stress free event at a concept store in the center of Athens.

Katsaros Distillery cooperates with the famous Kollias Restaurant



Foodrinco announces the inventive initiative that designed in collaboration with the Kollias Restaurant and Katsaros Distillery. As part of this action, from Wednesday April 26th, Kollias Restaurant incorporates new dishes in its menu, designed by Tassos Kollias exclusively for ouzo and tsipouro Katsaros, which will be available along with the special edition bottle (200ml) of each spirit, at a special price, as an aperitif.

As Tasos Kollias said: "I have appreciated ouzo and tsipouro Katsaros for many years now, both for the purity of their taste and aromas, as well as for their top quality. I am very happy to work with Foodrinco, putting into action the inspiration given to me by these special spirits, in order to offer my clients more delicious choices in every visit to the Kollias Restaurant".

With this initiative, the Athenians will have the opportunity to enjoy their taste perfectly matched with the flavors created by one of the top seafood specialists.

Oenorama 2017

OENORAMA

Foodrinco S.A. was present at the Oenorama 2017, which was held between the 11th and the 13th of March at the Zappeion Megaron, supporting with our team our partners’ participation at the world’s leading Greek wine exhibition. The producers’ stands attracted professionals and wine lovers from Greece and all over the world, who had the chance to taste their top quality products and the people behind them. Specifically, the visitors enjoyed the fine wines of Estate Chrysohoou from Naoussa, and the exceptional etiquettes of Palivou Estate from Nemea. They also tasted the crystal spirits with the long and well kept tradition, ouzo and tsipouro, of Katsaros Distillery from Tyrnavos. Let’s all meet again at Oenorama 2017!

Participation at 12th Ho.Re.Ca 2017

Foodrinco S.A. participated in the 12th HO.RE.CA 2017, which was held between the 10th and the 13th of February 2017 at the Metropolitan EXPO, with a large number of distributors, traders, hospitality professionals and journalists visiting its stand. With a strong presence, Foodrinco team along with its partners presented to the guests the high quality products. Specifically, our visitors had the opportunity to taste the fine wines of Estate Chrysohoou (Naoussa), with Xinomavro as the starring variety, and they were introduced to the multidynamic red variety, Agiorgitiko, from Palivou Estate (Nemea). The spirits lovers tasted tsipouro and ouzo of Katsaros Distillery, based on authentic, traditional recipes. Our visitors also tasted Tranquini, the one and only relaxation drink in the Greek market, which received excellent reviews for its taste and beneficial properties, while XL energy drink and the cypriot beer KEO also made a great impression.

Foodrinco S.A. participates in the 12th HO.RE.CA 2017, the international exhibition for the provisioning and equipment of Hospitality and Foodservice companies, which will be held between the 10th and the 13th of February, 2017, at the Metropolitan EXPO exhibition center.

“Safety Day” for Foodrinco

On October 14, at the initiative of Nestlè for the Warehouse Safety Day, Foodrinco conducted a training session at its warehouse facilities in Avlona addressing the warehouse and distribution staff, as well as the collaborating PU drivers, over the safety rules. The main axes of the agenda were "Safety in warehouses - Quality of the distribution chain - Good storage and distribution practices."

Foodrinco excelled in the "Contest for the Safety Meeting" among other distribution companies both for the successful organization of the Meeting and for the observance of safety rules. We feel very proud about this, as safety is an important and non-negotiable priority for our company.

Participation in Sial Exhibition 2016

Foodrinco, continuing the growth of its exports, for one more year participated in "SIAL", the International Exhibition of Food & Drinks, which was held in Paris, from 16 to 20 October 2016. Our company presented to the visitors the "Harmonia" series, a range of high quality Greek products. In particular, they had the chance to taste the extra virgin olive oil from designated areas of origin (P.D.O / P.G.I), a wide variety of olives of superior quality, the olive paste, the harmonia cheese (PDO) with the unique flavors and aroma properties in a modern packaging, and finally the delicious breadsticks series.

“Harmonia” series received excellent feedback, which urges us to continue with greater momentum our contribution to the promotion of the Greek products abroad.

Vytogiannis Group of Companies at the Hellenic Company Sports Games 2016

Vytogiannis Group of Companies participated in the largest annual corporate sports competition "Hellenic Company Sports Games 2016" that was held at the Peace and Friendship Stadium from October 7th to October 9th. The Hellenic Organization for Company Sport & Health is the event organizer that aims to promote ''Active Lifestyle'', Health Improvement & Social Interaction through Sport & Recreational activities within the company environment.

The Group participants enjoyed this unique experience and performed dynamically in sports like tennis, table tennis and chess, while we watched with great pleasure our "B-United" teams that competed in 5x5 soccer and 3on3 basketball.

So, we expect in sporty mood next year’s event!

Wine lovers’ visit at Estate Chrisohoou & Katsaros Distillery

In September, Foodrinco with company representatives and wine lovers visited two of its main partners.

They first visited Estate Chrisohoou in Naoussa, where Chrisohoou family welcomed the guests and introduced them to the secrets of the famous wine variety, Xinomavro. Mr. Keimis Chrisohoou guided them to the privately owned vineyards and the winery, and talked about its long history. The visit ended with a hospitable meal and wine tasting of different labels from current and older vintages.

On the second day, the trip’s destination was Tyrnavos, specifically Katsaros Distillery, which is the oldest distillery of ouzo in Greece. The visit included a tour in the distillery, introduction to the distillation process and, of course, tasting of ouzo and tsipouro. The group kept on enjoying these excellent spirits accompanied by authentic delicacies at a local restaurant.

An unforgettable experience, full of flavors and aromas, which all desire to repeat soon!

Tranquini, the absolute protagonist of the summer!

Tranquini, the refreshing natural wellness drink, is for one more year the absolute protagonist in our summer moments! People had the opportunity to taste it at outdoor locations in Athens and Thessaloniki, and also at the ports of Piraeus and Rafina, to start their holidays with positive attitude.

Tranquini following the philosophy of relaxation, positive energy and well-being was sponsor of the great event, organized in the center of Athens, to celebrate the International Wellness Day, and also supported the event of the 2nd International Yoga Day. Of course, the actions did not stop there. Tranquini, in collaboration with the beach and water sports club "Karavi Schinias", organized the Tranquini Beach Volley Tournament with great success, and was the ideal drink for the athletes and all the people attending. Also, Tranquini organized a big competition inviting the visitors to taste it and take part in the draw to win a Mountain bike, Clermont Freeland.

Foodrinco presents two brand new labels of its partners, already put on the market, with a very positive response from the wine lover audience.

Moscato Rosato, a semi-sweet and semi-sparkling wine by Limnos Organic Wines, has a pale rosy color, based on a blend of the white variety, Muscat of Alexandria, and the red variety, Limnio. With floral and fresh fruit aromas on the nose, discreet sweetness and refreshing bubbles at mouth, it is the ultimate aperitivo under Greek signature.

La Vie En Rose, the new classy label by Palivou Estate, is signed by the oenologist of the Estate, Evangelia Palivou. It is a light and pleasant rosé wine, which uses all the aromatic qualities of Moschofilero variety, rising fresh floral aromas, while it is presented in a bottle with a characteristic, romantic design.

It is an exclusive cooperation and touches the Nationwide (excluding the regions of Thessalia & Pieria) trading, promotion and distribution of N. Katsaros Distillery spirits. Moreover, it further strengthens the company's portfolio in the wine and spirits sector and is placed among the brands of the "Harmonia by Foodrinco" family, framed by a specialized marketing and communication plan.

The Katsaros family is identified with the spirits history in Greece, as its distillery in Tirnavos was founded in 1856 and is the oldest in the country. Cuvée 589: Two prominent Greek Wineries sign together a great wine!

The wine team of Foodrinco, in cooperation with Palivou Estate in Nemea and Estate Chrisohoou in Naoussa, "married" two great Greek red varieties, Agiorgitiko and Xinomavro, to create a fine wine. Thus Cuvée 589 was born; through joint effort and mutual respect, as part of an initiative that reflects the philosophy of our company, and our belief in our partners.

"Cuvée": a secret blend, with proportions that will never be unveiled. "589": the kilometers that separate (or join) the two wineries

This fine red wine was presented to journalists at a privé dinner given on December 17th in Aleria restaurant, by the company’s Management Consultant, wine journalist Ted Lelekas, who was the instigator of the idea behind Cuvée 589, along with the presence of the wine producers, Mr. Kimis Chrisohoou and Mr. Giorgos Palivos. The public had the chance to enjoy it for the first time two days earlier, at a special tasting evening held at Mezzaluna restaurant.

We wish this wine to have a good journey and give pleasure to every friend of wine!

Tranquini is already part of our everyday lives!

The relaxation drink Tranquini is approximately six months in the Greek market and has already taken its place on both the shelves of super markets (Carrefour Marinopoulos, AV Vassilopoulos, Thanopoulos, Veropoulos, METRO, Market in, Gegos) and in our lives, as it was present in the most relaxing moments of the summer. Tranquini, with the unique formula of herbs and natural sparkling water, impressed those who had the chance to taste it in beach bars and cafés, and became the ideal drink for the athletes of the volley tournament in Karavi-Schinias.

Also, Tranquini participated in two major events organized in Athens, the 6th Athens Bike Festival, which is the biggest bicycle fest, and the 3rd National Yoga Festival, giving the opportunity to those who tried it to find out how they can enjoy a more peaceful, balanced and positive lifestyle.

At the same time, this special wine was renewed and "wore" a brand new label, inspired by the tradition of the native place combined with the modern eye of the 21st century. Viognier: The new arrival by Palivou Estate

The varietal white wine Viognier is the latest arrival by Palivou Estate, and one of the few Greek labels of this fine French variety. It is available for the first year, in just 10,000 bottles, and has already started being discussed!

With lemon color and golden highlights, intense aromas of exotic fruits combined with the spicy aromas of spices from the barrel, and pleasing and balanced mouth feel, it is a complex wine with power and finesse. It has an alcohol content of 13.5% abv, and can perfectly accompany white pasta, fish, salads with fish-roe and fatty Chevre cheeses.

iTQi Superior Taste Award” for the Extra Virgin Olive Oil “Harmonia”: a stamp of quality in taste!

The two Harmonia olive oil varieties, extra virgin olive oil Chania & Laconia, were awarded, for the second consecutive year, with the international award for their superior taste by the International Taste and Quality Institute.

Both the Chania and the Lakonia oil, won two stars, with a rating between 80-90%, classifying both labels in the category of "Remarkable products".

The International Taste & Quality Institute - iTQi - based in Brussels, is the world leading organization dedicated to testing and promoting superior food and drink. Judges are selected within the 17 most prestigious European culinary and sommeliers associations and can provide the following awards to a tested product:

  • Three Stars    Exceptional products with 90% and more of total marks
  • Two Stars    Remarkable products with marks between 80% and 90%
  • One Star    Notable tasting products with marks between 70% and 80%

The “Superior Taste Award”, awarded to the extra virgin olive oil Chania & Laconia, is the only stamp of quality in taste granted by food and drink opinion leaders that are Michelin starred Chefs and Sommeliers.

Tranquini, the new alternative refreshing soft drink, has taken its name from the word «Tranquility», relating to – the much needed nowadays - rest and tranquility. International Wine Fair ProWein
Foodrinco travelled to Düsseldorf (15-17 March 2015) in order to support the participation of Karamolegos Winery and Palivou Estate to ProWein, the International leading trade fair for the wine and spirits business. As every year, the Greek representation in ProWein was remarkable, while Karamolegos Winery and Palivou Estate gave the chance to visitors to discover two of the most significant wine-producing zones of Greece.

The fine wines of Artemis Karamolegos Winery initiated visitors into the island of Santorini and the unique grape variety of Assyrtiko, while the distinguished wines of Palivou Estate introduced them to the versatile red grape variety of Agiorgitiko and the blessed land of Nemea.

The stands of the two wine producers were visited by distributors, traders, hospitality professionals, as well as journalists, bloggers and connoisseurs from all around the world.

Foodrinco is enhancing the "Harmonia, finest Greek products" family , adding a range of high-quality cheeses with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO).

The range consists of three products with unique flavour and aroma properties, offered in modern packaging of 250g and 400g. Specifically, they are Graviera of Naxos PDO, Kefalograviera of Arta PDO, and 12 month-matured Graviera of Arta; all produced according to traditional recipes and conforming to the strictest food safety standards.

Harmonia cheese is already available at Duty Free Shops across Greece, while our aim is to add it to our portfolio of products that are exported to strategic markets abroad, in the near future.

The International Awards granted once again this year to the Estates we represent, make us proud and reward our choices to include them in our wine portfolio.

The Estate Chrisohoou in Naoussa won two major awards in the international wine competition “Decanter World Wine Awards 2014”, held each year in London. Specifically, the wine Estate Chrisohoou 2010 (PDO Naoussa) won a silver medal, while Xinomavro Blanc de Noir 2013 (Imathia PGI) was awarded with a Bronze Medal.

Artemis Karamolegos winery in Santorini won three gold medals at the International Wine Competition of Thessaloniki for its wines Santorini 2013, Vinsanto 2004 and Terranera 2013, while at the International Competition “Decanter World Wine Awards 2014” won a Silver medal for the label Santorini 2013 and two Bronze Medals for Assyrtiko 2013 and and Terranera Rosé 2013.

Superior Taste Award to our Extra Virgin Olive Oil “Harmonia”

Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil “Harmonia” - Chania and Laconia - are now internationally recognized for their superior taste. Samples were sent to the International Taste and Quality Institute, where the Olive Oil “Harmonia” from Chania Crete won three stars (the highest award) and “Harmonia” from Lakonia 2 stars.
The International Taste & Quality Institute - iTQi - based in Brussels, is the world leading organization dedicated to testing and promoting superior food and drink. Judges are selected within the 15 most prestigious European culinary and sommeliers associations and can provide the following awards to a tested product:

  • Three Stars     Exceptional products with 90% and more of total marks
  • Two Stars       Remarkable products with marks between 80% and 90%
  • One Star        Notable tasting products with marks between 70% and 80%

Foodrinco has integraded in its portfolio the extra virgin olive oil by creating its own brand called "Harmonia". Olive oil Harmonia family includes two labels of extra virgin olive oil from the major production areas with Protected Geographical Indication (PGI), Laconia and Chania in Crete, which not only are available at the Duty Free Shops of the country, but also have been exported in mature and emerging markets worldwide.

Making one step further, we added in “Harmonia Family” a wide range of olives of high quality in modern glass vases from Chalkidiki and Kalamata. Specifically, it is about green olives with almonds, Kalamata olives, green olives with fennel and coriander in brine, and a mix of black, green and Kalamata olives marinated in brine with herbs. All of which are ideal choices to accompany our salad, our snack or drink.

OENORAMA 2014

Our company successfully participated in Oenorama Wine Exhibition 2014 (7-10 March) presenting an extended range of wines from 4 Wine Estates this time. Starting with Palivou Estate in Nemea, the brand new wines “Ploutos” (meaning Wealth, Cabernet Sauvignon & Syrah) and Ihnos (meaning Trace, Merlot) made a perfect impression to both professionals and wine lovers. Chrisohoou Estate presented five harvests of Naoussa Chrisohoou (2001, 2004, 2007, 2010 and fresh, uncirculated 2013) at an enjoyable vertical tasting process, while Limnos Organic Wines from Limnos generated interest with their so famous aromatic wines. Finally, Karamolegou Winery from Santorini, our new exclusive partnership, successfully represented this important area of Greek Vineyard, and managed to attract the attention of many visitors.
At this exhibition, having the opportunity to come in touch with many people, it was confirmed that the choices of our collaborations are remarkable, encouraging this way our journey to the eponymous bottled Greek wine.

Foodrinco enters the wines of Palivou & Chrisohoou Estate in Cyprus

Foodrinco along with Nana Chrisohoou from Naoussa and George Palivos from Nemea (the two estates we cooperate with), visited Cyprus and more specifically KEO Company, which is aiming at expanding its wine range.

During those days, we visited several cavas, restaurants, bars and supermarkets, we met people of the local market, trained the sales team and executives of KEO Company, while we were updated for the challenges, problems and prospects of the Cyprus market.

The hospitality of KEO Company was remarkable and the events organized with many distinguished guests (connoisseur, wine critics, representatives of the media) which included vertical tastings and presentations from the wine producers themselves, were really interesting.

Through our cooperation with KEO Company, the wines of Palivou and Chrisohoou Estates are now available in selected liquor stores, restaurants and hotels in Cyprus.

Commandaria Commandaria: A historical wine arrival from Cyprus

Foodrinco has brought to Greece, through its collaboration with the Cyprus group KEO, Commandaria KEO St. John, one of the most historic and famous dessert wines in the world. Commandaria is the first and only Cypriot wine with a protected designation of origin produced from some of the oldest grape varieties in the world, Xynisteri and Black, the mixing of which gives a very special wine.

KEO KEO: THE NEW EXCLUSIVE COLLABORATION OF FOODRINCO

Foodrinco is being established in the beer sector with one more important collaboration: KEO, the largest brewery in Cyprus.

The KEO Brewery was the first to be built on the island commencing the production early in 1951. Initially the brewery had a small production capacity of about 15.000 hectolitres annually and now the brewery is capable of producing over 30.000 hectolitres per month.

KEO is an exceptional lager type beer, light and blonde which has won many awards in international competitions.

KEO beer is distributed by Foodrinco at several retail chains (Carrefour, Market In, Thanopoulos) and at selected points of sale.

Septem NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH MICRO-BREWERY SEPTEM

We are pleased to announce our dynamic entrance into the beer sector with a new strategic partnership: the famous micro-brewery Septem from Euboea Island. Taking into consideration the growing trend for quality beer that has been observed in Greece over the past years, Foodrinco has chosen to work with the most modern Greek microbrewery. Indeed, Septem produces beers which are very popular all over Greece and have won many awards in major international beer competitions such as the International Beer Challenge.

Septem founded in 2009 by Panayiotou brothers, who envisioned a "family" of beers, one for every day of the week (after all Septem in Latin means "seven"). The - 5 so far – beers of Septem are unpasteurized and loved by the consumers for their unique aroma and flavor complexity.

Olive Oil Our company, loyal to its principle of continuing education of its staff, is proud to announce that Mr. Nestoras Papanikolaou, quality assurance manager of Foodrinco S.A. with a university background in food technology, is now a certified olive oil taster, after having successfully completed the training program "Pro Olive Oil Expert". This program was organized for the first time in Greece by PARATUS Europe (the European branch of PARATUS Business Consulting a global business consulting company specializing in Strategic Business Planning, Security and Risk Management, established in 1989 in Sydney, Australia) and is certified by the International Professionals Certification Body STAREGISTER.
Having completed the education program "Pro Olive Oil Expert", the participants gained knowledge on authentication criteria of olive oil, adulteration methods and on most common security risks & defects of the olive oil. They were also trained in sensory evaluation, the effect of chemical properties of olive oil to taste and quality, as well as in the harmony of taste of oil and food. The program was completed with an evaluation of participants’ capability in smelling & tasting.
The quality and the high level of the program were guaranteed by the trainers Mmes Lazaraki and Christopoulos, who are the only recognized trainers by the International Olive Council (IOC) in Greece.

Great Days of Nemea 2012

On the occasion of the annual event “Great Days of Nemea”, our company co-hosted / co- organized with the Estate Palivou one big celebration to welcome the new crop.

The number of visitors was really amazing, as many new friends full of enthusiasm were added to the old friends, who proved to be loyal once again this year to their appointment. We enjoyed the program of activities at the Estate, which included tours at the vineyard and the winery, wine and extra virgin olive oil Harmonia tastings, as well as presentation of organic grape products (vinegar, grape syrup-petimezi) of the company Wisdom of Nature.

The cooking class by the famous chef Vasili Leonidou using vine products (grape, wine, vine leaves, must, petimezi, vinegar) inspired the attendees, while the tasting seminars with Eleni Tsouchatari in the cellar of the estate, where the paintings by Katerina Bardouli were exposed, travel them in the world of wine / into the wine world.

The day ended with the music of "encardia combined with the wines of Estate Palivou, carried all the guests along in tarantellas and other traditional dances of Southern Italy. This successful event is another example of the active support that our company has been strategically committed to provide to its partners in multiple levels.

Committed on our values & beliefs, we gave the chance to professionals, business partners & friends of the wine & spirit industry to learn more about our offered wines & spirits during our participation at OENORAMA WINE FAIR 2012. We hosted our visitors by offering the chance of tasting among the Greek varieties of wines of ESTATE CHRISOHOOU & spirits of PILAVAS DISTILLERY. To the extent of our appreciation to our visitors, we offered them a nice surprise by going through a tasting process of 7 harvests of XINOMAVRO wine of ESTATE CHRISOHOOU starting from the latest harvest until the harvest of 1994. Our visitors were surprised by the end result, as a 17 year old wine offered rich aromas and taste, not far away from the recent harvests. Similarly, we nicely surprised our visitors by exploring the maturity’s potential of a variety called PREKNADI, of harvests 2004 & 1997, through a tasting process. PREKNADI is offered under the brand PREKNIARIKO. Finally our barista expert served surprisingly our visitors with the latest cocktail of TENTURA ON GAZOZA!

Our company successfully participated in the GULFOOD 2012 trade fair at Dubai during the last week of February 2012. Our visitors tasted our supreme quality extra virgin olive oil and expressed a high interest to all flavors originated from the regions of Kalamata, Lakonia & Chania. We are very happy to realize the increased interest in the region about our harmonia extra virgin olive oil which perfectly fits to the nutritional habits of our visitors. We are confident enough that the discussions taken place during Gulfood will turn to fruitful long term business relationships. Finally, we were very happy during our presence in Gulfood to realize the highly acceptance of Greek olive oil.

Photovoltaic We are proud to announce the connection of our Photovoltaic park of 0.5MW, which has been installed in the roof of our warehouse, to the public electric energy network. The completion of the park contributes significantly to the direction of our environmental values. The yearly production of energy is enough on a yearly basis to supply energy to 170 households, to reduce the CO2 emissions by 770 tons and to plant 31500 trees. Key partners to realize our project, who cooperated perfectly together, have been Positive Energy S.A., Entec S.A., Metaloumin S.A. and last but not leas TUV HELLAS S.A..

Further to our successful participation in Anuga trade fair in last October, we are pleased to announce that we will participate in GULFOOD 2012 in Dubai from 19th until 22nd of February 2012. We will present our expanded product portfolio around extra virgin olive oil, oils & spreads. We will be looking forward to host you in our booth (Hall.8, Stand No.D8-42).

The company’s participation at the Anuga Fair in Koln was very successful as there was shown very high interest for our products, Chrysohoou wines and the ‘’harmonia’’ range of olive oil, mainly from the regions of Asia and the Pacific. We are very happy to realize the increased interest from developing countries to adopt the Mediterranean gastronomy and culture, which is famous for its healthy and longevity traits. This trend can provide great growth opportunities for our company.

We confirmed our participation to Gulf-Food which will be held in Dubai, February 2012. More details will follow to keep everybody updated. The increased interest for our products abroad was the main driver to confirm our presence in the bigger food fair that takes place in the UAE.

The company inaugurated a new sales model to further penetrate the market of mini markets and kiosks. This model will be evaluated at the end of the season and according to the level of effectiveness, it will trigger the implementation in a larger scale.

The company started a strategic partnership with Pernod Ricard Hellas to distribute its wide product portfolio in the channels of HO.RE.CA. and wholesalers.

The company’s warehouse facilities are moved to a modern and high-standard building in the industrial area of Avlonas. At the same time, the headquarters are moved also and are now located in a new and modern building at Metamofosis Attikis, very close to the national highway and the main ring-road of Athens.
